Canoeing Down the River

Canoeing down the river

Gentle current moves me.

Ebbing, flowing water

And sunlight, all surrounding.

And as I go

I’m leaving places,

Tearfully farewelling faces,

But the still, small voice,

He gently whispers,

“It’s time to let go”.

Canoeing down the river,

Some will come and some will go.

But I will never be lonely,

Of this I’m sure, and this I know.

Because the still, small voice

He brings me comfort.

He won’t leave me

Alone to wander.

As night falls,

I’m not going under,

I’ll keep carrying on.

Canoeing down the river.
