Pink and Gray

See the galahs, the galahs,
sitting on the powerlines!
See how they laugh, they laugh,
like mums on the sidelines
See the galahs, the galahs,
the ladies are never alone.
See they’re never far, never far,
from cackling about children grown
I don’t want to be an eagle,
no soaring alone for me.
I don’t want to be a seagull—
no squabbling for me!
But see the galahs, the galahs,
streaked with pink and gray.
I want to squawk, cackle, and laugh
with my friends when I’m old and gray.
